Totapari Goat

The Totapari goat, is a breed native to the Indian subcontinent, particularly in the states of Rajasthan. The name "Totapari" is derived from the regional term "Tota" meaning parrot, referring to the shape of the goat's nose which resembles that of a parrot. This breed is primarily known for its adaptability to arid and semi-arid regions, making it a valuable asset to farmers in these areas.   Totapari goats are famous for their distinctive appearance, characterized by long, flat ears, a convex profile, and a well-developed body structure. They are primarily reared for their meat, which is known for its lean composition and distinct flavor. In addition to their meat production, Totapari goats are also favored for their ability to effectively clear vegetation, making them valuable in land-clearing and weed control efforts.
